I was born in Earlwood, Sydney. I went to Earlwood Public for my primary school years.

Then after a couple years at a high school in unlucky St George Dragons territory :) I relocated and spent my best schooling years at Casimir Catholic College Marrickville.

The first time I moved out of my parents’ house, it was to Marrickville too. Then we spent a few years in Hurlstone Park. And now we find ourselves as residents of Dulwich Hill. My siblings live here, my grandparents all live here.

To say I’m an inner westie is an understatement. I’ve spent my life here, I love the people, the vibes, the opportunities, and everything else about it.

The one thing that has lacked in the Inner West, and that has been bugging me for a long time now, is the absence of a Higher Jiu Jitsu academy.

My people, school friends, family, and all Inner Westies, have been keen to commit to the jiu jitsu journey with me. We chat about how awesome our way of BJJ is, they get excited, and ask, ‘so where is your school?’ When the answer is ‘Woolloomooloo’ their faces usually drop, and the enthusiasm wanes. The most enthusiastic of them all may even show up in the 2011 a few times. But as time goes by their attendance drops and it slowly falls by the wayside.

As much as you love your school, life is busy and time is precious. Hence why convenience is definitely a factor when choosing a jiu jitsu school. And yet this meant most of my friends and family couldn’t be a part of the HJJ….

Until now!!!

When I was summoned by HJJ black belt Oscar to check out a new potential HJJ venue, I was skeptical because I’d given up on the idea of running two jiu jitsu schools. And then this one came up, and it simply a ‘no brainer’.

We celebrated a Grand Opening in style on the 12th March, and from today onwards we are operating at a full timetable! We have morning classes, lunch classes, & evening classes. We have classes for adults, little kids, middle kids, teenagers, and even Women’s Only classes!

We have an epic team of coaches who are passionate about sharing jiu jitsu with everyday people, are excellent at doing it, and who love seeing you improve and be at your best.

Finally, after many many years of thought, and dreaming, and thinking, we are finally in the Inner West!! So everyday people of Sydenham, St Peters, Marrickville, Tempe, Enmore, Dulwich Hill, Summer Hill, and surrounding suburbs, now is your chance.
